REMINDER OF eVe+ GOALS AND NEEDS THE PROJECT WAS ADDRESSED

CONTEXT OF THE APPLICATION:
Two successive experiences (lived between 2015 and 2020) influenced the
definition of the QUINTESSENCE partnership. The Lycée Ravel had indeed
just carried out successfully, when it applied for the eVe+ project,
two cooperations
registered within the framework of key action 2 of the ERASMUS+ program
centered, for the first, on "the necessary "knowledge of fears of the
past to face together the fears of the present" (a theatrical show as a
final production in 2018)
and, for the second, on "a new necessary ecological order between
Animals and Humans" (resulting in 2020 in the production of a science
fiction film).These two projects aimed above all to develop pedagogical
innovations (in particular, a
method based on field study, transdisciplinary ambitions) and to make
students more autonomous. and the resilience of these projects (marked
by the commitment of the learners) led the teachers to desire the
launch of another
ERASMUS+ cooperation despite hesitations on the most suitable framework
(it was finally the KA 201 format which was chosen).
THE RESPONSE TO IDENTIFIED NEEDS:
The need to better train in sustainable development, to enhance basic
skills and to innovate by taking advantage of the development of
digital tools are the axes of the project, which seeks to respond to
the lack of the institution. It is
moreover, for the French instigator of the partnership, to preserve the
dynamics and the form of its previous European actions
(transdisciplinary because resorting to scientific as well as literary
fields but also intercultural because creating 'a
bridge' between various ways to see, and artistic given the
intellectual productions provided.) The inclusive approach of ERASMUS+
also creates empathy and serves the cohesion of the community.
CHOICE OF PARTNERS AND THEMES:
The Lycée Ravel chooses, as international coordinator and project
manager, to contact two historical partners (Latvians and Romanians)
and a beginner school (and newbie teaching team) in Turkey; the
partners schools define two
together 2 main objectives (MOTIVATE AND GIVE MEANING; BUILD A EUROPEAN
CULTURAL AND SCIENTIFIC PROJECT) but plan to respond to 3 priorities
(climate and digital education, transversal skills).
IMPLEMENTED TASKS:
The learners studied (for 3 years, instead of the 2 school years
originally planned) the place of the 4 elements in European culture and
the history of energy sources used before and since the industrial
revolution, remotely (by
videoconference ) but also concretely (thanks to 3 exchanges
established in France, Romania and Latvia). They produced together, in
particular, graphic novels. The teachers were able to consult on 4
occasions to ensure the follow-up of
the project and to ensure that it is based on scientific and
"disciplinary" learning (Physics, History, Letters, etc.) making it
possible to establish a bridge with the disciplines social and civic
issues to lead to profitable intercultural exchanges
(Langues Vivantes, Arts) in a friendly setting. If the mystery of the
fifth element remained, the learners formulated the idea that any
solution had to be global and fair. All the activities were able to be
implemented despite two major
difficulties: the effect of the pandemic and the periods of
confinement, on the one hand, and the definitive closure of one of the
partner schools: the RIgas.18 vidduskola (fortunately replaced by a
high school located in the same city) on the
other hand.
TYPE OF PRODUCTIONS:
The learners drew, in teams or, sometimes, individually, graphic novels
or illustrations centered on the 4 elements and/or the production of
energy, in accordance with the application, which indeed envisaged from
the outset to favor graphic
productions as means of communication within the partnership and also
for the public, so as to facilitate exchanges without making fluency in
English a prerequisite, but with the intention of stimulating interest
in its practice in a concrete
framework.
WORKS TIMELINE AND OUTCOMES:
various support workshops and visits: graphic productions as part of
geography lessons and/or remote transnational workshops / cultural or
scientific outings were made during all the process
